DEMOCRATS OUTRAGED AT McGREEVEY
By Stockton
Prominent Democrats were outraged when New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey announced his resignation yesterday over an affair with a man. McGreevey admitted to having a "gay extra-marital affair" and resigned because it would effect his ability to govern the state.
"I was never in my office," explained McGreevey to reporters. "We'd be off at Broadway musicals or picking out china patterns. It was becoming impossible to govern."
Despite his resignation, certain democrats remained angry.
The senior senator from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy, said, "McGreevey's actions are outrageous. This is the Democratic Party. This is the party of John Kennedy, Gary Hart and Bill Clinton. We don't run around sleeping with men when so many good looking women are available."
Former President Bill Clinton was disappointed in the New Jersey Governor but less angry than the Massachusetts senator.
"We've tried to build a party that really likes women," remarked the former president. "Jim's actions could undermine all our efforts. What are we supposed to tell our children. Years ago, when a Democrat was caught with his pants down, we knew it was because of a woman. Now....it's like I hardly know this party."

Kennedy, Hart and Clinton offered to comfort Mrs. McGreevey, seen above.
Kennedy, Clinton and Hart are considering legal action against McGreevey for failure to pay royalities.
