HEROIC REPUBLICANS

We here at LB in '04 wish to dedicate the next few days at this site to Republican Senators Chafee (RI), Collins & Snow (ME), Hagel (NE) and McCain (AZ). All are said to be casting a "NO" vote on the Senate's ridiculous Anti-Ass Fucking Amendment.
Regardless of the merits of the Amendment, their heroism is in voting against a President and Administration that enjoys punishing intra-party dissent.
It is also rumored that John Warner (VA) has doubts about the Amendment. Unfortunately, these doubts stem from the wording of the Amendment and not the actual need for such measures. So, even if Mr. Warner votes no, he will not be included in the increasingly small ranks of Republicans we can, at the very least, respect unless he can articulate a better rationale for voting NO.
We also renew our invitation to Senators Chafee, Snow, Collins and McCain to join the Democratic Party.
