U.S. SOLDIERS TO BE REALIGNED
By Stockton
Yesterday, President Bush announced plans to 'realign' approximately 70,000 U.S. soldiers by the year 2006. The plan comes at a time when enlistments are down and tours of duty are being extended.
"Initially," said Press Secretary Scott McClellan, "the President wanted to realign the troops based on height. Now, it will be a traditional realignment."
Under the plan, troops stationed in the Far East will be transfered to Europe and troops in Europe will be sent to the Far East.
At a campaign stop in Sphincterville, Florida Bush discussed the plan in detail. "We want our troops to have the best. We want them to wear evenly. That's why were taking the troops on the driver-side front and putting them on the passenger-side rear and so on and so on. They'll ride more smoothly and last longer."
